A Volunteer Difficulty.

At* parade df the Devonport Navals last night -Major-General Whitmore attended and Addressed the men with-refer-ente to the disagreements whioh have been existing in the Company for some time past. He said he had examined the ac- - counts and found them correct, and he exonerated the Captain ■pf the 'Company (Captain Fenton) from blame in connection with this matter. General Whitmore Asked the men ito show, by holding up th«ir>h*nda,'that they also exonerated the Captain, but ttiree only -held up their hands, and General Whitmore then said the only oousee was to di&band, remaining that he aieter before felt so sorry at such an event > since his connection with -the Volunteer Force. Several -men said that ..Captain Fenton had loßt the respeot of the 'Company, and they dettired a new Captain. As the only solution of tho difficulty, General Whitmore announoed that all those who wished -to leave could do so, -and he would give Captain Fenton five days to reoruit upto 45; failing this, the Corps would ba disbanded. : He then -toolc his depaitur«, and anumber of men handed in their arms.
