The End of a Drinking Bout. [Per Pbebs Association.! HOKITIKA, July 23.

A man named J. Bowers was burnt to death in a hut at Back Creek, near Riinu, this morning. Three men and a woman had been drinking for some hours, when all left but the deceased, who was too drunk. A fire was burning on tlie hearth, and a. quantity of firewood was in the fireplace when the others left.
