THE THURSO, FROM CALCUTTA.
Mr C. W. Turner's clipper barque the 'lhurso. Captain Eaddon, returned toPoit yesterday, after a voyage to the Cape, Mauritius, and Calcutta. On tho present occasion, her cargo consists of corn- ; sacks, woolsacks, and a small lot of castor oil and tea. She has made the passage in 73 days, very good time, aud bos come into port in her usual neat and trim condition everywhere. Captain Biddon reportß:— Left Calcutta on Sepb. 30, and had light winds down the B3yof Beogdl, and to the Equator, which was cro sed on Uct. 2-i, 24 days out. The south-east trades were Bteady, and took the barque along to 85 east, when they gave out, being followed by seven days' very variable weather. The westerlies were then met with, and Uie barque made up for lost time, each day's work being good, rignt up to making Stewart's Island on Tuesday last. Dec. 7. Variable winds were expa••ienoed thence to Timaru, when a sonth-weit Breeza sprung np, and hoi ding Btrong bronght the oarque up to the Heads yesterday morning. She beat up the harbour to an anohorage, and was cowed into a berth at the No. 4 wharf in the afternoon by the p.a. Titan.
