THE CITY OF TANJORE, FROM. CALCUTTA.
The City of Tanjore, a handsome iron barque, arrived yesterday Irom Caloutta, 70 daya out, with a cargo of cornaaoks for Messrs Boyae, Stead and Co., and P. Cunningham and Co. Her master, Captoin Dow, reports -.-Left Caloutta on Oct. 3, and met with light winds ; crossed the Equator on Oot. 23, and carried the south-east trades to 82 deg Bouth-eaat, 33 deg south, on Nov 14. Met with 'strong westerly winds ia running dowu the easting, in about 49 deg south, and on Nov 25, enoountered a heavy west-north-west gale, during which several sails were badly damaged. Heavy quantities of water broke aboard, flooding the cabin and forecastle and sweeping everything moveable off the decks. The longboat also was injured, and shifted from the chocks, and large portions of the bulwarks damaged. Passed the meridian of Cape Leuwiu ou Nov 26, and that of Tasmania Deo 3. Sighted tho Snares on Dec. 7, and met with variable weather up tho coast to arrival yesterday afternoon.
