TIMARU CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

The annual meeting of the Timaru Chamber of Commerce was held yesterday. Mr T. Archer, President, occupied the chair, and there was a large attendance. A very satisfactory annual report and balance sheet were submitted. The latter showed a credit balance of £32, after paying all liabilities. Both report and balance sheet were adopted. Mr F. Archer was unanimously re-elected President on the motion of the Mayor, who was also proposed, but withdrew in Mr Archer's favour. It was decided not to elect a small Managing Committee, but to let the whole of the members be a committee, to manage the business of the Chamber. A motion to reduce the annual subscription from £2 2s to £1 Is was rojected. Mr Henry Green handed in a valuable return which he had compiled of the imports and exports for thb port of Timaru for the past year. Votes of thanks were passod to the rotiring officers, and the meeting terminated.
