INQUEST.

An inquest was held at Ward's Hotel, Kirwee, on Saturday, on the body of a man named Lorimer, who was killed the previous day. It appears that he was going to , the Selwyn river for water when something caused the horse he was driving to start, knocking him down, the wheel of the dray passing over and crushing his chest. He was picked up by some of his friends and put in a dray with the intention of being sent to Ohristchurch Hospital from Kirwee, but he died before reaching that station half an hour after the accident. A verdict of "Accidental death" was returned.
