INDUCTION SERVICES AT ASHBURTON. ♦

Yesterday, tbo Rev A.M. Beattie, the newlyelected pastor of the Ashburton Presbyterian Church, was inducted into his now charge. Tiie servico began ot 11 o'clock. Tho choir opened wi f h a suitable anthem, after which the Rev J. Blako preached. The Rev J. Elmslie presidod and conducted the formal part of the proceedings, putting tho mual questions to tho new pastor as to faith, &c. The Rev O. Fraser then addrossed the Minister in a few well-chosen words of advice, and the Rev Mr M'Callum spoke to tho people. Tho right hand of fellowship was then gives by the people to their pastor, after which the congregation, which was a largo one-, dispersed.
