BOARD OF CONSERVATORS.

The usual monthly meeting of the Mandeville and Rangiora District Board was held at Flaxton sido BchoolonFriday af ternoon,at which all tho momberß were present, Mr H. Blackett in the chair. The Ohairman reported to the Board what he had done since the last floods, which action wa* approved, and it was resolved— "That if the Road Board will cut and slope the western side of the No. 1 Drain road between the two bridges down to the water's edge, with a good uniform batter, bo as to increase the waterway, this Board will bear half tho cost of such work." An offor being received from Mr C. King to raise the road on the north side of the main drain from No. 3 to No. 6 drain, and to fill in the ditobes along the same length in connection with the work he ha 3 contracted to do for the Boad Board, it was decided to accept the same, under certain conditions specified, A rate of one shilling in the pound on the rateable property in the drainage district was ordered to be levied, the Clerk being instructed to communicate with the two Road Boards on the subject. Accounts amounting to £37 18s 6d wero passed for payment, and the members of the Board proceeded to inspeot the repairs being carried out between Fhxton and the Waimakariri, after which they adjourned.
