ELLESMERE AGRICULTURAL AND PASLORAL ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of tho Committee was held at Spring's Leeston Hotel on Saturday ; present — Messrs W. J. G. Bluett (in the chair), J. Eennio, D. Marshall, W. Bishop, W. G. Lunn, J. M'Rellur, R. Lockhead, and tbo secretary. The Chairman, in explaining the objeot of the meeting, expressed himself thoroughly satisfied that the district would give tho same support to the Association this season that it had done for so many years past. He would call upon some one to move tho . first resolution. On the motion of Mr Rennie, seconded by Mr D. Marshall, it was resolved—" That the Ellesmere show of 1879 be held on Tuesday, Nov. 4, and the secretary was instructed to advertise the same at once, so as to avoid clashing with similar exhibitions." The consideration of the question of title to the Bhow ground was deferred, pending Mr Lawrence's report on his mission to the Crown Lands office. An application from Mr Bluett to rent the show ground for twelve months for the sura of £12, on the same conditions as it was originally leased to Mr Osborne was accepted. Tho revision of the programme was deferred to Friday, August 1, at 4.30 p.m. ; and the secretary was instructed to convene a speoial meeting for that date by advertisement. A vote of thanks to the Ohairman having been passed the meeting ended. ;
