CAPITOL THEATRE

Friday and Saturday

Those who have read the novel “Freckles” will no doubt look forward to its screening tonight and tomorrow. The author, Gene Strat-ton-Porter, aimed to give full expression to one of the vital phases of American life—life in a lumber camp—and in its picturisation “Freckles” has been a pronounced success. The story is of an, orphan lad who goes to the timber country to seek his fortune, and at the end of many privations finds success. Beautiful scenic scenes of the timberlands of California are a feature, The programme also includes “Picnic Panic” (coloured cartoon), “Newly Reweds” (comedy) and two Pathe newsreels.
