(To the Editor) Sir, —Why has our prosperous and wealth Dairy Factory—the Bay of Plenty Co-operative Dairy Association, Ltd.— not made a substantial donation to the King George V Memorial Fund ? We farmers have had a really tine season, and a cheque for £SO or £IOO from the Association to this worthy object would not hurt us. Indeed we would feel pleased to know the Directors had taken such action. —I am, etc., “Cow Cockv.” (To the Editor) Sir,—-Please permit me to thank, through your columns, the various contributories to the Te Puke Fund in support of the King George V Memorial. To none at all of these contributories did 1 make any personal request for a subscription, and their response to the appeal is all the more gratifying. I wish also to thank Mr J. A. Jamieson, who voluntarily got in some os the subscriptions, for devoting his time to that purpose. There must still be many people in the town and district who would like to add their help to the Fund, and that being so it is still open to them to send their contributions either direct to myself or to the Town Clerk. The total amount so far subscribed is not commensurate with the wealth and importance of this flourishing part of New Zealand, and therefore I make this final appeal to all those who have so far not made a donation to do so within the next few days.—l am, etc., Te Puke, Ben Keys, 3rd June 11137. Mayor.
