The match played on Saturday j last between the Opotiki and | Wmakatano teams resulted in a j win for the former by 19 points ! to 11. ■ ' A match that created a great deal of interest amongst the Maoris in this district, was played at New Plymouth last Saturday, when a team representing the Arawa tribe defeated the Taranaki Maori team for possession of the Tainui-Maniapoto Cup, held by the latter. The game was keenly contested, the scores being 11—5 respectively. Raymond of Te Puke, scored a try for the winners and Hohaipata of Rangitaiki another. The following is the draw for the Cup matches to be played on the local ground tomorrow. Seniors United v Pepamoa. No 2 ground J. Conway referee. Rangiuru v Huimai. No 1 ground, E. Morton referee. Juniors Stars v Rangiuru, No 2 ground, J. Cooney referee. - United v Huimai, No 1 ground, W.'Kelleber referee.
