Te Puke School Jubilee Celebrations

, The adjourned meeting of the Jubilee Committee and business men wasT held on Wednesday evening last, Mr E. V. Sharp (chairman; of the Jubilfee Committee) presiding. There was a j very large attendance. The chairman explained the object of the meeting, stating that in view of the important nature of the forthcoming event, .it was thought advisable to increase the personnel of the Jubilee Committee appointed ■at the Parents’ Association meeting in April Hast. With the programme that would be submitted this was : necessary in order to make a success of the celebra. tions. Mr Sharp thanked the business-men for rolling up m such; numbers, and felt that it augured well •,for the complete success, financially and otherwise, of the Te Puke Schools’ Jubilee.

It was decided that all in attendance be added to the Jubilee Celebrations Committee which now read as follows : Chairman, Mr E. V. Sharp. Secretary, Mr F.E. Gemming. Auditor, Mr W. H. Evans. It was decided that a charge of one shilling be made for admission to School Grounds st the memorial gathering to those not wearing badge or decade ribbon. -■ The Secretary was instructed to write to various local bodies re supply of flags and streamers for {the Jubilee. ”* It, was unanimously resolved ,that old Native ex-scholars of the School ba asked to forward their names to tho Secretary for listing purposes. As Te Matai, No 1 and No 3 Schools had been embodied in the Te Puke School, the meeting thought it only proper that ex Pupils of these schools with Rangiuru School should have the privilege of participating in the celebrations, and the Secretary was instructed to advise ex-Pupiia accordingly.
