WAITEMATA.
The issue in Waitemata is simple. Mr A. Harris, the sitting member, who< has eat in one Parliament on the "Reform" side of the House, has to demonstrate that he can hold it against Mr H. C Tewsley, who is new to politics. Mr Harris is a highly energetic young man who leaves no stone unturned during session or out of it to convince his supporters and others that he is the Prize Rose from Roseville and despite little lapses in regard to post offices and that sort of thing he will assuredly poll heavily. Carefully balancing the qualifications of the candidates one finds that the worldly and commercial experience, the education and culture and the general knowledge that a Parliamentarian should possess are largely on the side of Mr Tewsley. He is in all respects a suitable candidate to represent an electorate which contains so large a number of business men. Mr Massey has said that he wants to see Mr Tewsley in Parliament and this is very generous of him to a man who is on the opposite side of politics. It is likely that this contest will be a very close one, Mr Tewsley having made very great headway during his campaign. He has shown that a keen fight can be fought without malediction and without heat. It will be all to the advantage of Waitemata to return a man who has very special qualifications for the office.
