Wanted, a Leader.

It has been suggested that a Liberal leader might be found by calling Sir Robert Stout to the Upper House, making him Premier. Stout has, however, reiterated his intention not to re-enter public life, so he may be dismissed from the calculation. Another possible way out of the difficulty is to call Sir Geo. Grey to the Upper House as Premier. Possibly the large body of Liberals who would decline to be led by him in the Lower House would not object to his Premiership in a more elevated sphere, and with Mr Ballance as leader in the Lower House a strong and united party might be formed, able to hold office for many years.
