BAY OF PLENTY RACES.
OPENING DAY TO-MORROW.
Good Fields Engaged.
TWELVE IN THE CUP. HORSES IN FORM. Tho first day of the Bay of Plenty Racing Club will be held at the Gate Pa course to-morrow. Good fields will be engaged, and some interesting racing should be provided.
The principal event is the Tauranga Cup, 1{ miles, in which 12 have accepted, with King Bey, winner of tho Ohineihuri Cup, at the head of the list with 9.9. The chief sprint race is the Flying Handicap, for which 14 have accepted.
The first race will start at 11.45 a.m., and the win and place system of betting will be in operation. The following are expected to run prominently in their respective engagements: —
TRIAL HANDICAP, 5 fur.—lnquisitor, Abbey Lass, Dialogue.
TANNER MEMORIAL HDCP., 5 fur. —Philcourt, Silver Cloud, Eastern Heir. GATE PA HUKDLES, U miles.—Kitberis, Professional, Innes Lad. TAURANGA CUP, 1$ miles.—Miss Lu, Tybalt, Day Wind. ALF. BROWN MEMURIAL HDCP., 6 fur.—Galloping Acre, Ohmaha, Barricade. GREERTOWN HIGHWEIGHT HDCP., 1 mile. —Brown Lap, Hutana, Racette.
PRESIDENT'S HANDICAP, 7 fur.— May Song, Kena, Bonny Song. FLYING HANDICAP, 6 fur.—Sir Abb, Lornacre, Grand City.
