JOHN FRANCIS O’LEARY. PROMINENT CIVIL SERVANT. [By. Telegraph.—Press Association! WELLINGTON, Aug. 20. The death lias occurred of Mr. John Francis O’Leary, chief clerk of the Slate Advances Corporation; Mr. O'Leary, who was 134 years of age, was educated at Dunedin and joined the State Advances Office as a cadet, his period of service covering 36 years. The death occurred suddenly iii his office this morning of William Thomas Findlay, aged 46, an accountant to the Department of Health. He had not been in the best of health in recent years, but there was nothing to indicate that death was so near.
