"There still, however, remains the difficulty of a number of married men having to travel to secure work, bringing the problem of keeping two homes going." A number of answers received to 10,000 questionnaires he sent out, he added, showed an annual wage for tradesmen of from £152 to £lB2, and an average rental of 30/-, leaving little for food and clothing.
