FARM MANAGER GUILTY
COMMON ASSAULT ONLY. CASE IN THE SOUTH. [By Telegraph.—Press Association] PALMERSTON N., July 31. ~ Found guilty on a charge of common assault, Hector J'ames McDonald, a farm manager, was ordered by the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, in the Supreme Court yesterday, to come up for sentence if called upon within 12 months.
It was stated that the accused was at present serving a sentence of 12 months' imprisonment imposed at Chri'stchurch on July 1. Accused was charged here with indecent assault on a female. It was alleged that he kissed her when interviewing her regarding employment. The jury found him guilty of common assault only.
