BROTHER'S DISCOVERY.
WAS OUT AFTER PHEASANTS

A well-known Matamata farmer, Mr. Percy Barugh, was found fatally shot on his farm at Turanga-o moana, Matamata, on Thursday.
The body was found at the foot of a steep bank in a plantation, the head being terribly mutilated. A gun, with one cartridge discharged, was alongside the body.
Mr. Barugh, some time before the tragedy, had been to the sharemilken shed for milk, and on his return he informed his sister that he had seen three pheasants and would go out and get one. When ho failed to return his sister informed her brothers, avlio farmed an adjoining property, and they found the body.
Mr. Barugh was 41 years of age and a bachelor. He was a son of the late Mr. E. Barugh, a pioneer Waikato farmer.
