FIGURES FOR QUARTER,
SAVINGS BANK DEPOSITS.

Tho Postmaster-General, Jones, stated to-day that the postage revenue for the month of June reached £134,058, compared with £115,34C for tho corresponding month of last year. The telegraph revenue was £25,907, as compared with £25,204; toll revenue, £47,858, as compared with £41,931; and telephone receipts £IOB, 115, as against £100,755.
A better indication of the general increase in business is, however, re vealed in the revenue figures for the quarter ended June 30. The postage revenue shows an increase of £97,000, although part of this return is on account of the sale of Coronation stamps. The telegraph revenue shows an increase of £4OOO, toll revenue an increasd'of £20,000, and the telephone receipts £32,000 above the return for the corresponding quarter of last year. In the Post Office Savings Bank the deposits for the Juno quarter of this year were £8,822,287, compared with £7,502,367 for the corresponding quarter of last year. The excess of deposits over withdrawals was £1,404,969, compared with £857,560 for the corresponding quarter of last year.
