Spectacular Fire.

BITUMEN MIXING PLANT. WELLINGTON CITY LOSS. (By Telegraph —Press Association). WELLINGTON, Jan. 31. A City Corporation bitumen mixing plant at Rongotai was destroyed in a spectacular blaze early this morning. The cause of the fire was the boiling-over of a 1200-gallons kettle on the top floor, the boiling bitumen reaching the ground floor where the mixing plant was situated. The huge colume of smoke was visible for miles.

The plant cost over £SOOO, and insurance carried by the Corporation totals £2200.
