POST OFFICE BUSINESS. SIGN OF BETTER DAYS. (By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, Nov. 29. The Director-General of the Post and Telegraph Department announced yesterday that the revenue of the post office under all headings was disclosing an upward trend. While gratification was to be found in the increased business an even greater satisfaction was to be derived from the indication the figures gave of a return to the Dominion of better days. For the seven months ended October 31 the revenue of the several branches was as follows (figures for the corresponding period of last year being given in parentheses for purposes of comparison) : Postages, £646,126 (£643,1/2) ; telegraphs, £156,159 (£149,640); tolls, £244,314 (£225,451); telephones, £713,004 (£690,965); total net revenue, £1,921,236 (£1,821,689) ; total net expenditure, £1,546,097
