St. John Ambulance.
ANNUAL INSPECTION. DISTRICT OFFICER'S VISIT. There was a good muster of the Thames Division of the St. John Ambulance Division in the Druids’ Hall last evening, under the command of Captain P. J. Hosking, when Mr. 11. D. Cobb, district officer for the Waikato district, inspected the Division. After the inspection and a demonstration of first-aid by four members of the Division, Mr. Cobh complimented the Division on their smart appearance and the manner in which they carried out their duties. He later spoke on the work of the Brigade in New Zealand, and urged the members to keep the efficiency of the local Division up to high standard. He hoped I > v • a team from the Division taking part in the competitions to he held at Hamilton in January next. Presentation. Prior to addressing the Division, Mr. Cobb, on behalf of the members, thanked Dr. J. B. Liggins, lionovary surgeon, for the great assistance he had rendered and the time given by him in instructing the members in first-aid. He presented Dr. Liggins with a handsome pipe as a token of appreciation. Dr. Liggins, in reply, assured the members that whenever he possibly could he would be only too pleased to help the .members in their work.
Mr. Cobb returned to Hamilton this morning.
