Cricket Tour.

TEAM FROM AUSTRALIA. UNLIKELY THIS SEASON. (By Telegraph—Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 9. The New Zealand Cricket Council last night received a remit from JVanganui urging further negotiations with Australia for the visit of a team to New Zealand. Mr. A. T. Donnelly said that negotiations with the Australian Board of Control for a team this season were continuing, but a visit was unlikely. The latest reply from the Board of Control stated that tho time had arrived when in the interest of Australian cricket it was necessary to concentrate on homo games. ' It was necessary to arouse public interest in Sheffield Shield games, which would be less attractive if the best players were away on tour. Consequently a team could not very well leave before the end of February, and even then a tour would interfere with club matches.
