Kitchen Evening.
FOR MISS MAVIS COCHRANE.
On Friday evening, May 20, a kitchen evening was given by her girl friends in Coromandel to Miss Mavis Cochrane, who is shortly to be married. The evening yvas held in tin. Oddfellows’ Hall, and “500” was played by some, who rather enjoyed being disturbed by the mirth which was exhibited by a game of “pit” in progress at a big table by the livelier ones of the party. A delicious supper was served by the hostesses, after which Miss Cochrane opened her many gifts. In a few words, she thanked her friends, and the evening ended with “For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow.”
