Concert At Coromandel.
PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
ACTIVITIES.
A concert, which was much appreciated by the large audience which attended, was given by the Presbyterian Church in the Caledonian Hall on Monday evening, May 23. Old favourites, and some new ones, favoured those present with their talent.
The concert opened with an overture by the Coromandel Silver Band, and then a chorus by the company, consisting of Mr G. Tiller, Miss O. Denize, E. Gibbs, Mr W. Pepper, Misses S. and V. Meurant, C. and M. McNeil, Shannon and Mr Hawley. Songs and duets were rendered by different members of the company during the evening, while Miss F. Martin and Mrs S. Allen sang solos; Miss Jean Gamble (an old favourite), recited, and Mr Lucas gave some humour.
The concert ended with “God Save the King.” Afterwards the hall was cleared (with the permission of Mr Fraser) by the young people, who danced until midnight.
