Missing Prisoner.
BENNETT REPORTED SEEN.
IN OTOROHANGA BACH. (By Telegraph—Press Association). TE KUITI, April 2C Charles Bennett, who escaped from the Waikanae prison camp recently, is reported to have been seen at Otorohanga. Mr Hector Falconer reports that he surprised a man in his bach at Closeytown, Otorohanga, but Lhe man left hurriedly. Mr Falconer did not report the matter to the police until three hours later. A search was then made, but no trace was found of the man.
Bennett was at one time on the staff of the post office at Otorohanga, and still has relatives in the district. MiFalconer knew Bennett when he was living at Otorohanga.
The police seem to think that the man. seen was Bennett, and a search is being made throughout the district
