Mr. Samuel's Activity.
NEED FOR BONUS.
HELP FOR PROSPECTORS.
(Special to Star). WELLINGTON, Aug. 22. Mr A. M. Samuel, M.P. for Thames, asked the Hon. the Minister of Mines, will the Government introduce legislation this session to assist the important primary industry of gold-mining by providing:— (1)' Handy facilities .for crushing and proving the value of ore broken out by prospectors and parties; (2) By a bonus on production; (3) By adequate assistance to prospecting and development parties; (4) By providing explosives at the cheapest possible rate;
(5) And any other form of help that will assist in providing an incentive to resuscitate
this important industry.
A i healthy revival of gold-mining is of the utmost importance to the Dominion, and may go a long way towards solving the present unemployment situation.
