FIRE AT KARANGAHAKE.
—+ — THREE SHOPS D'ESTKiQYEiD. . (Pea* United Press Association.) EAiIMiNGAHAKE, April 8.. Three shops occupied by H. Brown (fishmonger), J. Mayn (grocer) and A. Green (draper) were destroyed l»y fire. When first noticed the five, which began in Mlayn's shop, had a finn hold. The brigade worked splendidly, andi succeeded in checking the flames in the second portion of Green's double shop. Mayn's store was a branch of the principal business, which is located on the opposite fide of the street. The stock in this branch store was completely destroyed. So far the only insurance available is that of A. Green, £400 in the 1 Commercial Union on tlhe stock. The e.sti mated loss is about £1000. The buil'lings were owned by Mr Cullen, -f Paeroa. _^
