A Woman's Suicide.

VERDICT OF THE, JURY.

Auckland, April 21. An inquest was held this morning by Dr. Philson, coroner, and a jury, of which Mr John Jenkins was chosen foreman, concerning the death of Mrs Elizabeth Jones, of Stanley .street, Arch Hill, who suicided yesterday by hanging herself to a door by a piece of clothes line. Evidence was given by deceased's mother (Mrs Burns), Constable Walker. J. A. Marshall, and Dr. Moir. Dr. Moir said he could judge by deceased's despondency, caused through the loss of her husband two years ago last Sunday, that she committed the act while i>i a state of temporary insanity. James A. Marshall .deposed that deceased was continually deploring the loss of her husband and that as late as last Sunday. night she expressed' a wish to be with him. The jury brought in a. verdict that the deceased cauie to her death by strangulation at her own hands, she being at the time, demented by bereavement and sleeplessness.
