WATER RACES.

The Warden said with regard to applications for water races, he would hear the particulars and objections, but he would reserve the granting of them for Captain Fraser. The rapes would be granted according to the date of application. He mentioned this because he intended to hear those to which no objection had been lodged first. James Liddell for five sluice heads.

Mr Horsbrugh appeared for applicant by authority. There was no objection, but the Warden reserved decision for Captain Fraser's return. Alexander Hogg for five sluice heads. No objection from the Engineer or Mining Inspector. Reserved for Captain Fraser's return. Mr Hogg asked to amend the application so as to make it for threp sluipe heads instead of five, which was allowed. J. B. Beeche, for the Tairua Goldmjnr ing Company, for two sluice heads. Mr Wildman appeared for the company. No objections. Same as previous applications.

J. E. Macdonald. Application for dam at Tairua.

No objection, but Captain Goldsmith suggested that §ome further details should be furnished before it was granted. The new rules provided for plans and sections, but they were not in force. The plan sliould be submitted for'the approval of the Warden.

Adjojirued till Tuesday nexp.

W. G. Barnes for water race. Mr Sully had objected, but withdrew his objection. The Mining Inspector objected, as no plan had been furnished.

Applicant said Mr Bayldon had been busy during the last fortnight. He thought he would be able to have a plan in a fortnight. The application, was adjourned for a fortnight.

Charles Buhner for water race

This was objected to by Alexander Hogg, but Mr Hogg said since the objection was laid Mr Bulmer's race had been surveyed. He wished that his (Hogg's) right should stand first, and he would have no further objection.

After some conversation Mr Hogg withdrew his objections, and the decision was reserved.

Walter Sully for water race,

This was objected to by J. Arthur. Mr Brassey appeared for all parties. The application was heard, and granted for three sluice heads according to plan. J. E. Macdonald for water race. Objected to by J. B. Beeche, and adjourned until October 12. J. Arthur for dam.

Objected to by W. Sully. Objection withdrawn by Mr Brassey and application reserved. . J. Arthur for water race. Objected to by W. Sully, settled in the same manner as the foregoing.
