AMATEUR BOXING
Sir, —In reply to “Patron,” I would like to ask him how proved facts can be construed as "unfair allegations.” I challenge this correspondent, or any official of the Boxing Association, to disprove the facts as stated by me. In spite of Newitt’s statement, I say “he was out on his feet.” Up until the count of nine he was struggling with himself to rise. He did so on nine and his condition caused me to call from my seat in the front stalls "stop it!” The bout was allowed to go on for him to receive (what may have proved a serious blow) one more light punch which was finish. Now “Patron,” I detest weaklings who seek to hide their identity behind a pen-name. Even the C.O's. gave their true names to support their convictions. Have you less courage than they? You suggest that the Boxing Association ofilcials resign and hand over to me. You flatter me. My counter to this is that you resign, and I will fill your place for the good of amateur boxing.—l am, etc., Chas. Lawrence.
