BATTLE OF SUPPLIES

Bombers Participating (8.30 p.m.) LONDON. October 3. American strategic bombers are participating in the terrific battle of supplies at present progressing in France, Belgium and Holland, their bomb bays carrying overcoats and uniforms for thousands of shivering. American troops, says the correspondent of the Associated Press at Supreme Allied Headquarters. General Eisenhower's biggest problem at present is not Germany’s strength but the speedv distribution of supplies to contend with the approaching winter. It is apparent, in spite of Allied power, that the Supreme Command is preparing for long -winter campaigns. The rains which have .come early have robbed the Allies of one of their biggest assets—mobility and daily overwhelming air support.
