FIRST LIBERATION
Greek Territory (Rec. 9.30 p.m.) ’ LONDON. Oct. 3. British commandos were landed on Kythera Island on September 29 by the British and Canadian navies in the first liberation of Greek territory since the German invasion in the spring of 1940. says the correspondent of the British United Press with the landing forces. The commandos went ashore unopposed. The Greek partisans who welcomed them said that the Germans withdrew last week, but were still present in force in Peloponnesus, just across the channel. The British cruiser. Black Prince, has bombarded the main aerodrome on Crete.
