A young horseman with relatives in Gisborne has just completed a ride across one of the widest parts of the North Island in eight days—a distance of 300 miles. He is Mr Reg. Piesse. Taumarunui, who is only 18 years of age, but w'ho has had sufficient outdoor experience to be able to take such a journey as a matter of course, though in these days of modern travel it is, to townspeople, something of a feat
