Invaders Being Held
<11.30 p.m.) CHUNGKING, Nov. 10. Fighting continues in the mountainous region south of the Yangtse River in Western Hupeh and Northern Hunan, says the correspondent of the Associated American Press. The Chinese have recaptured Nanhsien. The Chinese are holding the invaders in most sectors. The Japanese lost heavily when the Chinese attacked a column that penetrated the mountains to a point 40 miles south of Ichang. Reaffirming the Chinese Government's intention to establish constitutional rule as soon as possible, I,lang Hanehao. Minister of Information, said that some westerners, misunderstand ing China’s real situation and misled by tendentious propaganda. have become sceptical about China ever liecoming a democracy, but in spite of the war's handicaps the Government Lt striving to prepare the people for a constitutional regime. He added that the failure to establish constitutional lovernment. in China would mean the lailiire of the Komintang.
