Venture Was Worthwhile

(Rec. 7.30) CAIRO, Nov. 11. “Many of you who were captured In Greece may wonder whether the venture was worthwhile,” said General Sir Henry Maitland Wilson addressing 400 repatriated New Zealand and Indian prisoners of war at a tea party. “I can say that the Greek campaign certainly was worthwhile. We have definite proof that if we had not gone into Greece the attack against Russia would have started much earlier with Russia’s defeat as a possible result.
