TEMUKA ATHLETICS
Good Performances Recorded Interest In Hurdles Larger entries and keen competition made the weekly meeting of the Temuka Amateur Athletic Club on Monday the most successful held this season. More efficient organisation was evinced by lack of delays in starting races. The competitions as a whole were productive of good performances, particularly the hurdles. This race, which was over 120 yards, aroused much interest among spectators and the event revealed that although the sport is only in its infancy there is material for future champions. The boys’ races were well patronised and here again the talent shown augured well for the future success of the club. It would bene ; the boys considerably if a few field events were included in this section. Good entries were received for the women's 75 yards sprint which had to be run in two heats. Following were the results: Girls' 75 Yards: E. Mclnnes 1, D. Robins 2, S. Abernethy 3. Time—lo 3-ssec. Boys’ 75 Yards: First heat: J. Devine (syds) 1, G. Cameron (3yds) 2. Z. Holland (4yds) 3.
