WOMAN’S TRAGIC END By Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN. November 16. Mrs Isabella Chalmers Bryce, a widow, met her death in shocking circumstances at her home, No. 4 Clarendon Street, this afternoon. Mrs Bryce, who was 78. had been a semi-invalid for the last 18 months and lived with her two daughters, who had left her alive and well when they returned to work after lunch. When one of them returned about 5.20 this evening .she observed smoke issuing from her mother’s room, and entering saw her parent lying dead beside a fire burning in an open grate. The clothing had been burned from the lower part of the body, and it is assumed that Mrs Bryce had had a seizure and, falling against the fire, her clothing had caught alight. _____
