MAXIMUM OUTPUT
EMPLOYMENT OF EVERY EFFORT By Telegraph —Press Association WELLINGTON, November IS. Declaring that the economy of the country was ultimately dependent on the extent of primary production, the annual conference of Associated Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand today carried a remit from Auckland urging the employment of every effort to secure the maximum possible output, specially lil view of the Empire’s war needs. Moving the remit, Dr. E. P. Neale (Auckland) said that guaranteed price schemes and comtnandeers were keeping down the price of farm products so much that there was a danger that rising production costs would wipe out the margin of profit. Thus the farmer would lack inducement to bring production to the maximum point.
