CAVE CAMP
FIRST DETACHMENT TO ENTER NEXT WEEK The first detachment from the Burnham camp to go to Cave for a fortnight’s training under active service conditions will leave Burnham on November 23. The detachment will be of between 700 and 800 men of the 20th (Riflei Battalion. They will remain at Cave until December 6, when the remainder of the men now at Burnham will go to the tented camp in South Canterbury. The second detachment will return to Burnham oh December 20. The District Military School has reopened its course at BUrnham, and 42 officers who will be attached to the Second Echelon of the Special Force are now undergoing a comprehensive course. Non-commissioned officers will join the school later on. Major S. M. SatterthWaite has returned to the comma* d of the Distri"’ School, and his place as camp commandant has been taken by Major H. M. Foster, formeriv No. to area officer.
