The wool sales resumed with a total of 10,014 bales offered of which 8310 were sold, 1748 privately. Compared with the closing sales prior to the Easter recess, the best wools ruled about par, while the average to inferior sorts were 5 per cent lower. Carbonising wools were unchanged. There was good competition, mainly from Yorkshire. Continent and Japan. Greasy Merino made 161 d.

This fact, combined with dry weather conditions, made sales hard to make, and values were easier by 2 6 a head.
