STORING OIL.— Oil storage tanks of the Continental Oil Company’s refinery at Ponca City, Oklahoma, stand in what were previously wheat and pasture fields. The small lake in the left background, made by damming a ravine, provides forty-three million gallons of mater, which is used to cool the great stills. The storage capacity of this great collection of tanks is 421,641,948 gallons. It is about two miles from the nearest tank, in the foreground, to the furthest, in the upper right corner.
