SAILING TITLES

CHAMPION BOATS TO VISIT NEW ZEALAND United Press Association —By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright (Received October 26, 6.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, October 26. The Auckland yachtsmen, Messrs Dennes and Webster, attended a meeting of the New South Wales Eighteenfooters’ League, and extended official invitations to the regatta in 1939 and the centennial carnival in 1940. It is likely four boats will compete in the New Zealand championship It Auckland in February. Bert Swinbourne, skipper of the world champion “Taree,” said that unless something unforeseen happened the “Taree” would be certain to make the trip, although he has a right to demand that the world championship should be sailed in Sydney. Swinbourne will probably defend the title in New Zealand. Other boats likely to visit Auckland are the “Malvina,” which is present Australan champion, “Deewhy” and “Ajax.”
