QUIETER SITUATION
FEW MAJOR INCIDENTS IN PALESTINE British Official Wireless (Received July 15, 6.30 p.m.) RUGBY, July 14. “There have been no major incidents tn Palestine to-day, although there were a number of minor incidents in the north, says an official message, received by the Colonial Office. Jerusalem is quiet, while the position in the southern districts, including Jaffa and Tele-Viv is satisfactory. Galilee is quieter. The situation in Haifa town is less tense, but early this morning, near Qualoilya, a goods train was derailed as the result of sabotage. Traffic is temporarily interrupted. ARAB ACTIVITY CHECKED WARM RECEPTION IN JEWISH QUARTER United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received July 16, 12.55 a.m.) JERUSALEM, July 15. The military fired on Arabs invading the Jewish quarter in Safad. One was killed and three wounded.
