ROADS AND BRIDGES

£45,000 NEEDED FOR REPAIRS By Telegraph Press association HASTINGS. May 31. Approximately £45,000 will need to be spent in restoring damaged bridges and clearing slips from roads in the Hawke’s Bay county as a result of the floods. This figure' does not allow for the cost of metal for the roads once they have been cleared. The cost of repairs is estimated by the county engineer, Mr R. Pulfiett, to be divided into about £20,000 for the restoration of bridges and more than £24.000 for road work in the council’s area.
