AUCKLAND CITY Bv Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, June 24 An increase of 3Sd in the £ in the aggregate of the municipal rates for the current year was decided upon by the City Council to-night. The rate for the year' just closed was 3/114 so that the figure for the current year will be 4/31. The total annual rateable value for 1937-38 of all property on the city valuation roll is £9,673,305. The rates for this year are as follows, those struck last year being given in parentheses —General (including sanitation) 1/10 (l/53d), library Id (Id), hospital 5Sd (51d), drainage 3d (3id), interest 1/71 (1/8).
