THEFT OF TYPEWRITERS By Telegraph Press Association AUCKLAND, June 24. A sentence of two years’ reformative detention was passed by Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M.. on John Herbert Tonking. described as a publisher, for the theft of two typewriters valued at £l2/10/-. Evidence was given that Tonking had obtained a loan of £4 on each machine. A pawnbroker said that Tonking told him that he was the editor of “Jack Blunt,” a weekly newspaper, and had no further use for the machines. The Magistrate said that Tonking’s record was a bad one.
