WEDDING
ROONEY—CUNNINGHAM The Church of the Immaculate Conception Geraldine, was the scene of a pretty wedding, when Margaret Cecilia, fourth daughter of Mrs J. Rooney and the late Mr John Rooney, Orari, was married to Robert James, youngest son of Mr and Mrs P. Cunningham, Mosgiel. The Rev. Father Forgarty officiated and celebrated Nuptial Mass. The bride who was escorted by her eldest brother Michael, made a charming figure in a gown of ivory silk velvet, made with a small shirred upstanding collar, and long tight fitting sleeves finished with tiny buttons to the elbows. The skirt fell in graceful folds to form a long train, and her veil of silk embroidered tulle arranged in halo style fell to the end of her train. Her bouquet of cream chrysanthemums and asparagus fern completed a charming toilette. She was attended by her sister, Nora, who wore a frock of blue, blistered cloque made on slim-fitting lines, and a blue, pastel-felt hat. She carried a bouquet of chrysanthemums and asparagus fern. Two little nieces of the bride, Margaret Columb and Betty Rooney made sweet little flower girls dressed alike in ankle-length blue georgette frocks, with blue picture hats. Their posies were composed of freezias. Mr Jack Cunningham attended his brother as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held in the coronation hall Orari, Mrs Rooney and Mrs Cunningham receiving the guests. Later in the day when the happy couple left for the north, the bride travelled in a smart brown costume, brown felt hat and a brown coat. The future home of Mr and Mrs R. Cunningham will be at Claremont. In the evening Mrs Rooney entertained the guests at an enjoyable dance.
